Delicious Cheese Steak Stuffed Pepper

This Delicious Cheese Steak Stuffed Pepper recipe is guaranteed to be a hit at your next dinner table. It’s a healthier version of the classic Philly Cheese Steak, but without the bread. It’s also a low carb recipe idea!

 

 

Wash, clean, cut bell peppers in half. Try to remove as much seeds, and stem as possible before seasoning with salt, and pepper. Add bell peppers to preheated oven for about 15 minutes.  Remove from oven. Let cool. You may also blanch the bell peppers for 6 minutes in a stock pot.

Add 1 slice of provolone cheese to each bell pepper, cut the cheese in half to fit inside the bell peppers then add onions, minced garlic, and mushrooms to a non-stick skillet with 2 tbsp of cooking oil. Let it cook for about 4 minutes then add steak to skillet along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.

Evenly divide the steak mixture between all bell peppers. Top each bell pepper with the remaining slices of provolone cheese, and bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Delicious Cheese Steak Stuffed Pepper

  • 1 lb Sirloin steak or flank steak (Thinly sliced)
  • 2 Bell Peppers (any color) (Cut in half)
  • 1 cup Yellow onion (Chopped)
  • 8 slices Provolone Cheese
  • 1-1/2 cup Baby bella mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (Or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 tsp Dry Italian Seasoning
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Pepper (To taste)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350. 

    2. Slice beef into thin slices.

    3. Cut bell peppers in half and remove the stems and seeds. Chop Onions.

    4.  Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and bake peppers in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle peppers with salt, and pepper.

    5. Add 2 tbsp of oil to skillet. Add onions, mushrooms, and minced garlic. Cook for 4 minutes on medium heat.

    6. Add the meat to the onions mixture and stir thoroughly. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.

    7. While the beef mixture is cooking, take 4 slices of provolone cheese. Add a slice to the bottom of each bell pepper. 

    8. Divide the beef mixture evenly between all 4 peppers.

    9. Top each pepper with the remaining slices of provolone cheese.

    10. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese melts or starts to turn brown.

    11. Garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
