Baked Turkey Wings with Veggies and Herbs Gravy

Baked Turkey Wings with Veggies and Herbs Gravy

I’ve never been a fan of a whole baked turkey. I guess it’s because of it’s texture. Dry not juicy, and embarrassingly hard to swallow. Although, I’ve tasted turkey which was in a brine overnight, it just was not good enough for me to fall in love with. But, this unbelievably delicious Baked Turkey Wings with Veggies and Herbs Gravy recipe will have your family licking their fingers. The gravy is a simple mixture of chicken stock, and flour added to the baking dish to cook along with the veggies, and turkey wings. Packed with flavor inside and out makes this Baked Turkey Wings with Veggies and Herbs Gravy recipe one of my all time favorites.

  • 1 large carrot (chopped)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 3 large garlic cloves (shell removed, kept whole)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 3 fresh sage leaves (or 1 tsp of dried sage)
  • 4 fresh sprigs of thyme
  • 3 fresh sprigs of rosemary
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix chicken stock and flour. Put aside until ready to use.

  3. Clean and pat dry turkey wings. Add wings to a large bowl. Add 1 tbsp of oil, creole seasoning, black pepper, dried thyme, onion powder, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes, and Worcestershire sauce. Toss to coat, making sure both sides of wings are well seasoned.

  4. Place chopped veggies in the bottom of a Pyrex dish or baking pan of choice. Along with herbs. Drizzle oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss.

  5. Place seasoned turkey wings in an even layer on top of the veggies, and herbs. Add chicken stock, and flour mixture into the sides of baking pan. Add bouillon cubes. Cover the baking pan with aluminum foil, and place in preheated oven. Roast for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  6. After 1 ½ hours. Remove aluminum foil, stir gravy and place back in the oven for 1 more hour or until skin browns.

  7. Remove from oven. Serve over rice. Make sure you spoon that delicious gravy over the turkey wings. Enjoy!
